Concealer applied correctly serves three distinct functions: spot coverage (one shade matching skin tone, stippled directly onto blemishes), under-eye brightening (one shade lighter than skin, blended in an inverted triangle below the eye rather than just the dark circle itself), and baking for longevity. The inverted triangle brightens the entire under-eye zone and visually lifts the midface — a technique used by every professional makeup artist. Key rule: concealer should be blended with a damp sponge or fingertip, not a dry brush, to avoid the creasing that makes it look worse than no concealer at all.
