The invisible step that makes everything else work

A silicone or water-based primer applied after moisturizer and before foundation to fill pores, smooth texture, extend makeup wear, and create a uniform surface for product adhesion. Silicone primers fill and blur large pores and fine lines; water-based primers improve longevity on dry skin without clogging; mattifying primers control oil for up to 12 hours. Primer is the step that determines how long foundation wears and how smooth it looks — skipping it is why makeup looks noticeably different on some people by midday.
